Hi,
Does Trongate also supports Sqlite as a database? I see no reason why not, since Trongate uses PDO.

So, Sqlite, yes?

Even Laravel does it ;-)

Thank you, Djnordeen.
To be honest, Im not pleased with the reply b result. It seems that Trongate does not support Sqlite out of the box. That’s fine. There are others that do. I still like Trongate though.
Cheers!

Maybe you can start a new thread on how to use Sqllite with Trongate.

Dan, that’s a wonderful idea! If only my php knowledge would be on that level. I’m full on simplicity and stability, that’s why I like Trongate. IMHO Sqlite would fit this narative perfectly.

Cheers!

Well, Trongate is the best framework, Easy to use, works out of the box.
Most importantly, No Third Party Librarys, No Composer, No Packagist.

I think you will find a working Sqllite by asking questions here.

Thank you, Dan! Yes, Trongate is the best PHP framework and is so easy to use.

Janez Novak, it is great that you like using Trongate, and thank you for your honest approach to Dan's suggestions. However, let's step back a bit and address the elephant in the room, which is your derogatory reference to "Even Laravel does it 😉". (BTW - that comment alone could have earned you a shadow ban.) In my humble opinion, go right ahead and use that bloated framework; be bogged down with all the bullshit that goes with it. We choose a different path here, one of stability, and we won't be held hostage by tethering Trongate to third-party libraries.

Please read my posts here: https://trongate.io/help_bar_threads/display/FK96dUe9y55H if you haven't already done so. I did spend time looking into adding support for SQLite and PostgreSQL. At first, I thought great, let's do it, and then I changed my mind as I didn't have the time or the personal need to use it.

As I shouted so loudly at the end of the thread above - it takes a community to grow an open-source PHP framework like Trongate. We can't all sit by and leave everything up to DC to add 'x' or 'y'. I know you said that your PHP knowledge is not up to it right now, but people grow from such necessities. Who knows, one day I might write a universal model that supports all that PDO has to offer, or a simpler specific SQLite or PostgreSQL model. We have the tools, DC has given us access to both code bases - the 'Trongate Framework' and the 'Desktop App' - it's all there if someone or a team of people chooses to do it. BUT keep in mind - Trongate was designed to be easy to use, fast, and not bogged down by bloat. So, whatever the right solution is here, it has to be non-breaking, bloat-free, and easy to implement.

Cheers,
Simon
