Hello troops!

I'm currently in the process of testing our new payment gateway for the Trongate Module Market. So far, the process has been going well and I have made three test purchases. Once this work is complete, Trongate will be the only web framework that has its own desktop app and app store. These are exciting times!

Building and testing our new payment gateway has given me an opportunity to look at the Trongate website with a fresh pair of eyes. In particular, it has given me an opportunity to walk through the entire sign up process from the perspective of new members. This is something that I have not done for a long time. One thing that has become apparent to me is that Trongate is strong on technology but weak on communication. We certainly have some great tech and I think that Trongate is winning in terms of benchmarks and features. It's nice to give ourselves a pat on the back from time to time when things go well. However, I think it's very important for us to be honest about areas where we are weak. One thing that I'm very eager to do - as soon as the Module Market is complete - is focus on training and education. Therefore, once the Module Market is open, I'm looking forward to starting work on a new Trongate Learning Center, for developers who want to learn about Trongate. I'll give you full details about our upcoming Learning Center in a future post. In the meantime, I can tell you that it will be a free resource that is designed to cater to everyone - from experienced PHP developers to mobile app developers to people who have no experience of web development whatsoever. Building this will be my highest priority, for Trongate, moving forward. I also have some radical ideas for Speed Coding Academy but perhaps this is not the time or place to go into that!

I hope to have the doors of the Module Market open shortly. For the moment, I'll continue with my tests and my last minute tweaks.

May you have a great day and may your code be error free!

Macho love,

DC
