I can see that some of you have left very helpful and very detailed answers only to not have the threads declared 'resolved'.

This must be an irritation for you and I apologise for that.

When I have time, I'd like to build a feature that reminds the original thread poster to mark issues as resolved. I'm sure it's just an honest oversight. Everything here is brand new and we're all still finding our way around. In the meantime, I'm considering adding a quick fix which is simply to read the threads and manually declare 'resolved' for whomever appears to have given the winning answer.

Yes, I agree with that. I think that you can build a "Have you forgot about your post" method to remind the poster, is a very good suggestion.
People post on forums and do not come back with a response if they get their question answered.
Happen quite a bit on forums.
So, a good reminder never hurt anybody.

When I posted my recent question, I'd read about these issues but then had an issue working out how to 'accept' the best response. I didn't notice the star icon straight away. Then when I did see it, I hovered over it to work out what it was and nothing came up so I wasn't sure I should click it.
Maybe some carefully placed words of instruction/encouragement and hover text on the star button to help explain it would work well?

What if I get a bunch of answers from very clever people, but none seem to address my question?
What if I'm not obsessed with Trongate, and I happen to be busy doing other things, for a week or more.
What if I search high and low for a link that is clearly labeled "mark this question resolved"; and can't find it anywhere.
What if I just don't respond well to icons on a button that could mean just about anything?

I just caught wind of what a star might mean, but I'm not that sure.
Is my not flagging a thread "resolved" a good enough reason to question my decency?

I believe you don't. and this is not a time to be turning off people who are interested in learning about Trongate, with stupid comments and remarks.

Now, I got annoyed and deleted my threads. The good Lord knows that I don't want to leave my illegitimate children out in the wild indefinitely.

You know what? Even if all of those answers were garbage, some of them were rather lengthy and all of them were well intentioned. I'm absolutely sure of it. My personal standard is that when people try to help me, I say 'thanks'. I picked that up from my mum. Her name is Harriet.

The points about the buttons or functionality not being clear are all taken on board. I'll hopefully have an opportunity to resolve that soon.

As for the angry, petulant, entitled rant? I will not rise to that kind of behaviour.

If anyone asks why I don't come here and participate, please let them read this thread.
