Yesterday, I enjoyed a video call with Balázs Zatik, our resident web dev ninja, who has recently been carrying out extensive PHP framework benchmark tests. Thanks also to Simon Field for authenticating the data.
My friends, the results are in and the debate is over. We now know for a fact what the fastest PHP framework is. Spoiler alert: it is not Phalcon.
Next week, I will be posting my interview with Balázs Zatik on YouTube. It should go live on Tuesday or Wednesday. In the meantime, I have produced and improved an article that discusses the PHP framework benchmark test results in detail. Please do feel free to share it:

Finally, let me add that Balázs has an extensive and impressive background in web development. He has experience with Cake, Laravel, and is even certified in the Symfony framework. Frankly, I am astonished that we managed to get somebody like that batting on our side. He is exactly the kind of person we need, and he has done us all a huge favour.
Balázs, your time matters and we know that all those tests must have taken a very long time. So thank you. What you have done for Trongate will surely inject some much needed positive energy into what we are building.
Hail Balázs Zatik!

Thank you Balázs

I really appreciate the opportunity David. It was a fantastic experience for me to be on a video call with you.
Trongate is a special project that truly deserves more recognition from the PHP and wider web development community than it currently gets. I'm just glad I could contribute something valuable to help push things forward. Also, a big thank you to Simon for stepping in and authenticating the results.
It was both a pleasure and an honor.
