Firstly, A big thumbs up to the developers and contributors of Trongate framework. It is truly a Modular PHP Framework.
I am planning to develop a School ERP Application and i would love to use trongate because of its modular structure. I want the application to be in modules whereby a school can purchase only the modules they need and in future install other modules as the need arises. Basically a plug and play system but i have a couple of concerns and would want to know if it is possible with the trongate framework.
My plan is to have a modules structure as described below
modules
-----core
------------modulemanager
------------students
------------teachers
------------parents
-----other installed modules
The core modules would come preinstalled when the application is downloaded
The modulemanger would be like a market place where the users can go and install other modules for the application. I know TG has a administration panel where you can manage modules but i would want a custom marketplace for my application whereby the modules i develop can be installed.
My questions:
1. Can the modules be installed, uninstalled and disabled?
2. How can i prevent the core modules from being uninstalled or disabled?
Should I use Trongate or Not?

Hello, and welcome to the forum.
You have just described Trongate - and that's the whole point of the framework.
And it's YES to ALL!
For a situation like yours, I think it would be very beneficial for you to have a little one-on-one training with the Web Developer Extraordinaire to get you up to speed with the framework. DC would be willing to do this free of charge as long as you have a Skype account - please head over to https://trongate.io/your_messages/compose and DC will send you his contact details for Skype. .
Note - the above is David's words from a member's live stream - except for the end bit where I have put DC's contact info.
Cheers,
DaFa
