THE TRONGATE YOUTUBE CHANNEL

For quite a while, we’ve had a YouTube channel sitting idle - doing very little. It currently has around 600 subscribers. That’s about to change.

Here’s the URL:

https://www.youtube.com/trongate

The main goals of the Trongate YouTube channel are:

1. To promote the framework.
2. To provide useful, practical information for those interested in it.
3. To give the rock stars in our community a chance to shine.

The channel will operate in a similar way to the Free Code Camp model - multiple contributors, no single “lead” figure, and a strong community feel.

I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to get involved.

LOOKING AHEAD

If the channel ever reaches a point where it generates revenue - through Super Chats or otherwise - I will not be taking that for myself. Instead, any income will be reinvested into the framework.

That could mean advertising, hosting, or anything else that helps move Trongate forward.

At present, we’re nowhere near that stage - and, believe it or not, we already have sponsored hosting - so this isn’t immediately relevant. I simply want to make one thing clear: if I ever become extremely rich through Trongate, it will not be via the YouTube channel.

This is a genuine community effort - built to promote the framework and serve everyone involved.

PRACTICAL MATTERS

I’m not a YouTube expert, and there are still technical details to figure out - one of which is how to grant upload access to trusted contributors without creating bottlenecks.

That said, I’m happy to share access with the right people.

The mighty Balazs has already expressed an interest, which is fantastic - and I’m genuinely optimistic about where this could go. I have a few other people who I’m planning on approaching. If they say "yes" then it's going to be fantastic!

WHAT TO DO NEXT

In your email, please include a rough idea of the kind of video(s) you’d like to create.

I'm hoping to get moving with this within the next ten days or so.
