Hello folks,

I apologise for going off the radar for a while. I’ve been working very hard on the new ‘validacious’ update for the framework.

This relates to the repo we’ve been working on: https://github.com/trongate/validacious

Last time this was discussed, you may recall that we had a variety of AI tools working on it, but we weren’t sure whether it was ready to go live.

Since then, I’ve had a chance to go through everything. Although I haven’t pushed any changes to GitHub yet, I can confirm that the AI tools did introduce a few errors. I’ve now fixed those, and I believe we’re in fairly good shape.

WHAT NOW?

This website is now running the ‘validacious’ version of the framework. I’ve also added (but not yet tested!) an internal messaging system, a new Gmail OAuth feature, an entirely new sign-up process, and many pages of documentation that have been rewritten and improved.

In short, this is a significant upgrade.

My strategy is to roll things out gradually - one piece at a time. I’m going to be slow and cautious, so I expect there may be two or three days of errors while this process takes place.

Once everything is in place, I’ll keep a close eye on things. When we’re confident that everything is solid, we can expect a full framework rollout in around two or three weeks.

I’ll also upload the new documentation to GitHub shortly. At the moment, only the old docs are available there. I’m keen to get the new versions up soon, and you will - of course - be very welcome to contribute as you wish.

EXPECT ERRORS

So, I apologise in advance for any issues - especially over the next week or so.

If you spot any errors, please let me know in this thread. I’m already aware that the internal messaging system is not working at the moment, so there’s no need to report that.

Remember folks, this is a HUGE framework update so errors are expected. Be gentle with me!

Cheers!

Okay. I've done a bit of work and I think we're good. I'll keep a close look out for errors, and I'm sure there will be errors.

Once we've gone for (let's say) seven days without errors then the "validacious" upgrade will get rolled out on the main Trongate repo.

This is exciting.

Simon, I know you've been trying to get in touch with me and I apologise for the silence. I'll make an effort to hook up with you now using the normal mechanisms.

Balázs - I love the new videos. Keep it going!

By the way, I searched for your name on Google, just to make sure I had the spelling right. Here's what Google's AI thing just said about you: ---

START

Balázs Zatik is a key contributor and prominent community figure within the Trongate PHP framework ecosystem, frequently collaborating with creator Dave Connelly.

Based on recent updates (early 2026), Balázs is heavily involved in the development and promotion of Trongate v2.

Key highlights regarding Balázs Zatik and Trongate:
Performance Benchmarking: Balázs produced the 2026 benchmarks for Trongate v2, which showed it achieving 13,965 requests per second—roughly 30 times the throughput of Laravel 12 and nearly three times that of Trongate v1.

Content Creation: He creates video tutorials and showcases for the Trongate YouTube channel, including topics like building apps and testing framework speeds.

Technical Involvement: He is active in the Trongate forums, leading discussions on v2 features, such as adding light-dark() to trongate.css.

Expertise: He is involved in examining "Native PHP" (the core philosophy of Trongate) and demonstrating how the framework outperforms others.

END

---

I must say, that's all sounds very impressive to me. Congratulations on your fame!

Hail Team Trongate!

Thanks for the update, DC. I'll keep an eye out for errors and report back if anything unexpected crops up.

Simon has done some excellent work which is very much worth taking a serious look at. I helped him with testing and I'm fascinated by what he has accomplished.

I appreciate you taking the trouble and making sure you got the spelling right on my name. 🙂 A wise man once said: "If you want people to like you, there are only two things you have to do: smile and remember their name."
