I've been using PHP for a long time, and I've seen frameworks come and go.

To me, the most important part of this announcement isn't another feature. It's the decision to stop adding major features for a while. A framework is infrastructure. Once you have applications running on it, stability becomes far more valuable than novelty. I've maintained systems for years where the original code was perfectly adequate, but the surrounding framework kept changing and created unnecessary work. I think a year of stability is a sensible decision.

I also like that you're not saying development has stopped. Bugs will still be fixed, documentation can improve and small things can be refined. There's a big difference between maintaining a framework and continually redesigning it.

Anyway, congratulations on getting Flo completed. I remember when framework tooling was a lot less sophisticated than this, so it's good to see how far things have come.

Now perhaps we can all get back to writing applications.
