I hope you’re all doing brilliantly! I’d like to kick things off with a heartfelt apology to my mate, Dafa. The last time we caught up, he treated me to an absolutely smashing rundown of the latest AI wizardry. Honestly, it blew me away, and I’m so grateful he took the time to share it. When it comes to cutting-edge AI know-how, Dafa’s the man!
But - plot twist - a couple of days later, I hopped onto YouTube and basically declared “BS” on the AI world. Oops! I hope Dafa knows I wasn’t throwing shade at the brilliant stuff he showed me. To be clear, my rant was aimed squarely at the “get rich quick with AI” brigade that’s taken over YouTube lately. Funnily enough, I’ve spotted other creators - like The Primeagen and Mike from Work Unusual (love his watch channel!) - calling out the same silliness over the past week.
So, Dafa, if you’re reading this, please know my respect for you is off the charts. AI’s an exciting beast, and you’re doing incredible things with it. Hope that’s crystal clear!
What’s Cooking with Trongate?
Every time I write one of these updates, it turns into a bit of a to-do list - ha! I'll try not to do that this time. So, here’s a quick peek at what I’ve been up to personally and what’s on my plate right now.
For the past few months, I’ve been tinkering with something completely unrelated to Trongate. I can’t spill the beans just yet (fingers crossed for an investment!), but I’m hoping to show you a little demo soon. No prizes for guessing - it’s got a whiff of AI about it!
Lately, though, I’ve turned my gaze back to the Trongate ecosystem with fresh eyes, and - yep - I’ve spotted heaps of what I call “90 percentitis.” I’ve got this terrible habit of getting projects to about 90% done, then losing steam and leaving them dangling. Sound familiar? If you’ve got the same bug, you’re in good company - apparently, Leonardo da Vinci was notorious for it too, with stacks of unfinished masterpieces! I reckon it’s a motivation thing. Once the big challenges are cracked and the finish line’s in sight, it’s tough to stay fired up. It's a flaw of mine, and I bet some of you can relate.
Anyway, the documentation’s still the beating heart of my attention - if we don’t have decent docs, we’re sunk! Right now, they’re (surprise, surprise) 90% there, but there are gaps and glitches to fix. My plan? One chapter a day. I’ve been running it all through ChatGPT and Grok for a proper proofread - it’s slow going, but worth it. Oh, and yesterday I popped a shiny new search engine into the docs. Fingers crossed - I hope it works!
I’m also chipping away at a new module for the Module Market - hoping to have something ready by next Friday. Watch this space!
I could ramble on about other 90%-done projects, but I’ll spare you the agony. The goal? Turn those “nearly theres” into “done and dusted.” That is basically the current state of play with regards to Trongate.
Massive thanks to Dafa for keeping the forums ticking along - you’re a star! I saw a couple of improvement suggestions floating around, and I’d love to pitch in where I can, but time’s my nemesis. Dafa, if you’re up for tweaking the forums however you fancy, you’ve got my full blessing. I know you’re swamped too, but just saying! And if anyone else fancies sprucing up the discussion forums (all built with Trongate, of course), give us a shout.
And Finally…
I’ve decided to stop posting Trongate tutorials on my personal YouTube channel. From now on, any Trongate tutorials I do will be on the official Trongate YouTube channel. It's at https://www.youtube.com/trongate. I'd love to encourage you to jump in and share your own content there. So, if you’ve got ideas for tutorials or anything useful for Trongate devs, please holler! I really want to make the Trongate channel a communal channel. Trongate must never be a one man show!
Thanks for sticking with me ‘til the end - hail to you all!

Glad to hear it. Without you on board, we'd be in big trouble. I appreciate you and I'm grateful to have you on board.
