Hi folks,

Just a quick heads-up: at some point over the next few days, I'll be replacing this site with a new version that has been rewritten from the ground up.

The new version will look and work exactly the same. There are two reasons for doing this:

1. To remove a lot of legacy code that has accumulated from previous versions of the site.

2. To create a clean slate so that Grady can work on the site more effectively.

**WHY GRADY?**

There are a lot of features I'd like this site to have that it currently doesn't. For example, we still don't have a forum search engine - which is pretty wild. There are also gaps in the documentation that need filling. By bringing Grady on board, we'll finally have a chance to tackle these outstanding issues and complete some of the features that have been on the wish list for far too long.

**SAFETY FIRST**

Grady has no access to site passwords, FTP details, email addresses, or any other sensitive information. In fact, Grady has no knowledge of who any of you are. I'm extremely cautious when it comes to AI security, and I've taken steps to ensure that any kind of AI-related security issue is effectively impossible.

**WHAT THIS MEANS**

If we're lucky, everything will go smoothly and you won't notice a thing. If we're unlucky, the site may be unavailable for a day or two while the work is carried out.

Once everything is in place, you should start to see rapid progress on the remaining pieces of the ecosystem, including the long-awaited code generator and code-sharing platform.

I haven't yet decided whether to bring back the minimalist look. If anyone has thoughts on that, I'd love to hear your feedback.

Ahoy!

Hi DC,

Thanks for the update. Looks like you have been busy with the help from Grady. I like your approach to security with AI.

A suggestion: It would be nice to have a light/ dark toggle for the whole site, not just the forum. If you like, I can update my light-dark theme for the framework now that the setup module has been added, and Grady can then apply it to trongate.io - just a thought.

Hello DC,

Thanks for the update. I hope everything will go smoothly.

What do you mean by "I haven't yet decided whether to bring back the minimalist look"? Are you referring to the main website, the forum, the code generator or the code-sharing platform?

Also, I fully support DaFa's proposal for a light/dark mode switch across the entire site. That would definitely make browsing much more comfortable for the eyes, especially at night!

Balazs, that's a fair question.

To be completely honest, I haven't got a clue what I meant by "returning to the minimalist look"!

I think I wrote that part late at night, then sent the post through ChatGPT for proofreading, and somewhere along the way the original thought got lost. By the time you asked the question, I realised I couldn't explain it myself.

So, apologies for that bit of nonsense.

The main point of the post was simply that some behind-the-scenes work is about to happen and there may be a little disruption while it takes place. Other than that, nothing dramatic is changing.

Thanks for the heads up.

Dafa, I totally appreciate the suggestion. Hopefully that should be quite a straightforward thing to do soon.

Ahoy!
