Hi fidgetbytes,
It took me a while to find what you were talking about - I had to restart the Desktop app and click 'Update Your Settings' which led me to the 'A NEW VERSION OF THIS DESKTOP APP IS AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD' message, I then clicked on the 'CHECK IT OUT' button and it closed the Desktop app and took me to the download page on https://trongate.io. I restarted the Desktop I already had installed (v1.0.005) and it opened as normal.
I'm assuming there might be a bug on the 'Update Your Settings' button so avoid that for now. Try restarting the Desktop app as I did above - it seems to be behaving itself for me (btw - I'm on Windows)
