I have decided to stop the subscription-based model for the Trongate Fellowship. As soon as I’ve finished writing out this message, I’m going to be manually cancelling all subscriptions on PayPal. If you have subscribed to the Trongate Fellowship then you do not have to do anything. I’ll take care of it. There are a variety of reasons why I’ve made this decision. Top of the list is the nagging feeling that I have not really been able to deliver value to the subscribers. I’ve just been far too busy, working on the framework. With our existing subscription model, you basically get a badge and the promise of priority support on the Help Bar. That’s nice. However, in truth, the Help Bar is at its best when it treats everyone equally, regardless of whether they have subscribed to a club or not. That’s the way it should be. That’s the right way. Instead of having the PayPal based subscription model I have decided to move the whole thing over to YouTube. It’s still going to be around the cost of a Happy Meal (under a fiver per month!). However, this time I think I’ll be able to deliver real value to those who are good enough to subscribe. When you subscribe, you’ll get access to my daily live coding sessions. With those, you get to see precisely what is being worked on as far as the Trongate framework goes. As a matter of fact, you’ll be able to literally watch our ecosystem being built live! You’ll also get access to videos where I discuss non web-development topics. In short, you’ll be kept at the front line of precisely what’s coming up for the Trongate framework. Best of all, you'll never have to code alone! YouTube is the cradle of the Trongate framework. This whole journey of ours started off with a YouTube video and I think it’s appropriate that YouTube is where we continue. Those of you who have joined the Fellowship are now going to have your subscriptions manually cancelled by me. You’re also going to be given a ‘VIP’ status on the Hall of Fame. This is my way of saying a huge ‘thank you’ for your support and your encouragement. My new members’ area, on YouTube, has the name ‘David’s Insider Club’. Some of you will know that I previously ran a club with this name and – at one time – it had over five and a half thousand members. It was a good experience and I enjoyed it. Now, the time has come to take the advice of Robert Plant and bring it back! I’m looking forward to giving you the very best of what I have and I do hope you’ll consider joining us.
